AT&T AUDIENCE Network announced the order of 10 one-hour episodes of the new original series ICE. Currently being shot in Vancouver, ICE is a crime drama produced by Antoine Fuqua and Entertainment One that will air exclusively on AT&T U-verse and DIRECTV. Fuqua is a movie producer and director best known for his crime thriller Training Day, starring Denzel Washington, while Entertainment One is a Canadian media company that has produced films for CBC, BET, SyFy and more.
The series follows the trials and tribulations of G&G Diamonds, the Green Family’s jewelry trading business in Los Angeles. The family consists of half-brothers Jake and Freddy, their father Isaac and their uncle Cam, the head of G&G Diamonds. The action takes off when Freddy kills a prominent Los Angeles crime lord in the diamond trade. His step-brother Jake is forced to post bail and do everything it takes to save G&G Diamonds.
“I’ve been interested in this idea for several years and am thrilled to have found such great partners to bring this project to fruition,” said Fuqua. “I’m always looking for projects that explore worlds that audiences think they know, and then shining an authentic light on them, and with ICE we’re going to do both.”
Fuqua brings to life the suspense that comes with crime and family adversity. Watch the drama unfold in this riveting original series that premieres later this year on DIRECTV and U-verse TV.
